Manchester United are willing to sell Giuseppe Rossi, according to Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi.
Rossi may be surplus to requirements should United complete the signing of Argentina international striker Carlos Tevez.
Parma have not wasted any time by moving in quickly to take the 20-year-old hit-man back to the Stadio Ennio Tardini over the summer.
Ghirardi is waiting to hear back from The Red Devils whether they have been successful in their bid for Rossi.
"Manchester United have put Giuseppe Rossi up for sale," Ghirardi told Italian press.
"Two days ago we spoke with Red Devils officials and they told us the player is for sale.
"At that point we made an offer. Now we are waiting for an answer."
Rossi's nine goals in 19 games for Parma last term were crucial in helping keep the club in Serie A.
United may also sell Alan Smith and Keiran richardson who have fetched plenty of interest from a string of clubs.
