Arsenal's lead reduced to 1 point.

Premier League leaders Arsenal slumped to their first league defeat of the season losing 2-1 to a very spirited Middlesborough side.

Middlesborough took the lead in the 3rd minuted through Stuart Downing's penalty for Kolo Toure's foul on former Arsenal man Jeremi Aliadire. Middlesborough doubled their lead in second half thanks to Tuncay Sanli's quick reaction to a rebound from Manual Almunia.However Arsenal manged to score a consolation goal in 90th minute through Tomas Rosicky but that was not enough to save Arsenal from their first defeat.

This season race for premieship title seems wide open now with a tight race until the wire between the big four.Next weekend's fixture can play a vital role in deciding the league title with Chelsea play Arsenal at Emirates and Manchester United playing Liverpool at Anfield.
